Gratitude and gifts…

In this week of giving thanks (and in my humble opinion we should give thanks all the time)  there is really much to be thankful for.  I’d like to start with giving gratitude for the ability to walk the beach.  To be able to experience the sand between my toes,  see the dolphins when I walk, to see the sunlight dancing on the water like diamonds to smell the salt air this means that I am giving thanks for my senses…seeing, feeling, smelling.  This means that I am giving thanks for being here, being aware.

I also give thanks for the many people in my life, the people that come and go, the people that come back after many years of being somewhere else.  The people that pick you up when you fall, cry and laugh with you and are there to give you a hug when you most need it.  Without all of these people that come and go our lives, it would be a colder place.

In honor of gratitude I picked a stone that helps with good fortune and the heart chakra…green aventurine.  This stone is all about life, giving zest to it, adding confidence and helping with growth.  So to all of you for this Thanksgiving holiday, I wish you abundance with friends and family, and good luck in the future with your gratitudes.  many hugs and much love to you all…

Earrings…To be symetrical or Not??

Earrings are some of my favorite things to make, somedays!!  There are so many styles to choose from and sometimes I just don’t know which way to create.  Some people like them small, some like them large and long.  My mom thinks the bigger and funkier the better.  My favorite thing about earings, they don’t have to be symetrical.   I have my aunt Teasa to thank for this thought process.  Many years ago she gave me my first pair of non-symetrical earrings and I still have them to this day.

I like to think of non-symetrical as balance…the possibility of yin and yang.  There are times when my earrings are made symetrical.  Yes, it is because there are people that need everything to match, and I appreciate you.  But then there are those of us, who somewhere want something just a bit different…enter the yin and yang of  my earrings.    Sometimes the design is very obvious, and sometimes like in these Peruvain opal and swarovski crystal earrings the differences are very subtle.  Hope you enjoy!!
